What is dry mouth?

Saliva protects teeth, gums and comfort; losing it raises the risk of decay, infection and trouble eating and speaking. Dry mouth (xerostomia) is common with many medicines, cancer treatment and conditions like Sjogren's syndrome, and it deserves evidence-based care.
